The idea is the brainchild of Leon Leong, founder of BOLDR Supply Co., who realized the potential of relatively simple arrangements having a ripple effect between independent brands. Leon remarked, "It's about uniting our established networks to channel support towards fellow members of the collective."
The recent pandemic served as a poignant reminder of the initiative's value, as numerous small businesses, through mutual assistance and resource sharing, not only weathered the storm but also successfully rebuilt and flourished. In the face of unyielding landlords and severe limitations on foot traffic, these establishments exhibited a remarkable "team sport" mentality, fostering empowerment and motivation.
BOLDR has been teasing fans with an open secret over the past months - using coffee beans in the background of their social media product posts. For the first project, the company is working with one cafe chain and two independent coffee roasters that will support each other with sales and interlink audiences. They are Narrative Coffee in Bras Basah Complex, Rough Guys Coffee on South Bridge Rd, Sarnies cafe on Telok Ayer St, as well as Sarnies outlets Bangkok.
BOLDR wearers simply show their watches to the front counter to claim offers or rewards according to the agreement. This support system not only raises brand awareness and widens their customer base, it also brings a positive impact to local communities.
